Saudi Arabian has reopened visa-on-arrival for holders of valid visas to the United States, UK, and Schengen.

This move comes just two weeks after Saudi Arabia lifted all Covid-19-related entry restrictions.

Any citizen of any country, who holds one of the visas and is travelling on one the national carriers – Saudias, Flynas, or Flyadeal – can now get a 12-month tourist visa upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

To be eligible for visa upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, visitors must hold a valid visa from the United States, UK or Schengen.

Covid-19 insurance is also required for visitors. This can be purchased at any international airport.

Any citizen of any country that is eligible for the evisa program, which was established in 2019, can also receive a visa upon arrival, regardless of whether they are flying with an airline.

Ahmed Al Khateeb (Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia) and Chairman of the Saudi Tourism Authority said, “Restoring visa-on-arrival programs marks the final step to return Saudi Arabia to a prepandemic level openness and makes it an attractive destination for leisure, business, and religious travel.”

Saudi Arabia opened its doors to international tourists in September 2019, six months after it closed its borders due to the pandemic.

The country has shifted its focus to tourism, opening 11 destinations and creating more than 270 tourism packages.
